Reincarnation

'Reincarnation' took me a year to complete and it was made as part of my year 12 Art Major Work.

I started with a canvas that had been painted and repainted about three times and seeing the layers through each knew painting, I thought I would use that concept to form a video.

For me this film represents my frustrations with not only art, but life and creativity in general. I feel like there is so much under teh surface that we don't see, but the layers are there and they shape and form the new artworks.

It also represents by obsession with perfection and how frustrated I get when I'm not able to create what is in my mind.

But it's open to interpretation. I didn't really know what I was doing when I made it, I just let loose and went with whatever was in my head that day.
