The first thing I want to say is a massive thank you to MichaelGrin
who suggested and featured my doll mask as a Daily Deviation. I am very grateful to both of you! Thank you!
I would also like to thank and say hi to the new watchers! You have impeccable taste, you amazing, beautiful people!
Okay, now that that's done, I'll fill you in on what's been happening since last time I wrote a journal.
I worked for six months at my old high school assisting the art teacher and teaching a select group of kids about film making. It was only for two terms but I really enjoyed it. It was one hell of a first job and I am extremely thankful that I was given that opportunity. I am thinking about going back next year, I don't know yet, I'll just go with the flow and see how it all turns out.
Since finishing up at the high school I've been focusing on my etsy store www.etsy.com/shop/SometimesAli…
which has been getting busier over Halloween. And also my photography SometimesAlice
I don't really have much to say about it, I've just been having a lot of fun experimenting and learning and it's a creative outlet I really enjoy!
Last month I took a trip to Adelaide to check out Media Make-Up, I've been considering going to a school to learn about special fx and practical fx. I like the look of Media Make-Up and I love Adelaide, the only problem is money. I have no savings and Adelaide is a long, long way from home! So I'm going to be looking at other schools in Melbourne and maybe Sydney, my Mum even suggested New Zealand, but that's even further away so I don't know why she suggested it actually. If anyone reading this is a very rich, old person who wants to make a kid's dreams come true by sending them to an awesome make-up school and setting them up for like, I'd love to hear from you!
This weekend I am holding my first Special FX workshop in my hometown (homevillage?) which I am very excited about. I've done film workshops before but this will be my first SFX one. If it all goes well I will probably do more in different areas, but I'll see how it works out. Organising it has been an eye-opener and I feel like I've learned a lot in the past few weeks and I just feel really excited and eager to teach people and give them an awesome experience and hopefully inspire them as well. I can't really explain this feeling, it's a mixture of excitement, pride and satisfaction I suppose. I'll update you on how it goes anyway.
I don't know if there is much else to tell you. I've had some offers about different things that may or may not happen. I'll find out I suppose. There was a family drama last week that was in all the papers and the internet and TV and radio apperently which was embarrassing but at least my name wasn't mentioned and it all seems to be going away. Some people are still talking about it in town but it'll pass.
Anyway, now that the Halloween rush has slowed down (for me, at least) I will be getting back to making new things and starting new projects. I've started painting again so I'll upload those too.
Thanks for reading! Thanks for watching! I appreciate all the support that everyone has given me, even if you might think watching or liking something is just a simple click of a button, it means a lot to me! (:
Until next time,
P.S How awesome was the Walking Dead last night?
